5 shocking behind-the-scenes secrets from your favourite movies

There’s nothing they won’t do for the perfect shot! Seemingly perfect scenes can have some shocking backstories to tell. Don’t blame us if this changes the way you look at your cult favorites.

DIE HARD:

The brilliant suspense thriller that gave Bruce Willis a huge boost in his career, sadly also cost him his hearing. The lead actor was renowned for performing his own stunts. During a scene, he was required to shoot extremely loud blanks under a pretty tiny table which led him to permanently losing two-thirds of his hearing.

THE EAGLE:

Remember the epic historical drama set in Roman Britain starring the dapper Channing Tatum in the lead? While warming up in between scenes, a staff boy accidentally poured scalding hot water on Tatum’s costume that ended up burning the tip of his penis. It took nearly an hour to admit him to the nearest hospital, where he was immediately given Morphine to address the pain.

SYRIANA:

During a scene in this movie that had George Clooney tied up to a chair, the chair was kicked over and he was hit on his head. The fall ended up giving him a massive spinal injury with pain that was so severe that he considered killing himself in-order to get rid of the pain.

HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS:

David Holmes is the unsung hero in the entire Harry Potter series; he was the body double for Daniel Radcliffe since the very first movie. Tragically while practicing a flying scene in The Deathly Hallows that involved a jerk back stunt, he was accidentally hurled towards a wall and ended up breaking his neck that paralyzed him from the waist down for life.

NOW YOU SEE ME:

In the famous American heist thriller, Isla Fisher had a near death experience when she was stuck under water for over three minutes. The glamorous escapologist was underwater inside a tank when she realised that the chains that were meant to remove her out were all entangled. Distressed, she started banging on the glass wall, but the crew thought that it was realistic acting. Thankfully, a stuntman saved her in the nick of time.
