The Tower

ITV’s recent crime drama The Tower is perfect for binge watching over the winter break. Based on Kate London’s novel Post Mortem, this three-part series follows Detective Sergeant Sarah Collins (Gemma Whelan) and DC Steve Bradshaw (Jimmy Akingbola), who are called in to investigate after a veteran police officer and a teenage girl fall to their deaths from a South London tower block.
Premiered 8 November on ITV.
The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star
Background casting agent: GBM Casting
Distributor: Netflix
Vanessa Hudgens reprises her roles as Princess Stacy, Queen Margaret and fun-loving Fiona in the third instalment of this beloved Christmas franchise. This time, the three lookalikes team up with a mysterious man from Fiona’s past to recover a stolen relic. Expect holiday magic, romance and - of course - an unexpected switch!

The Great: Season 2
Background casting agent: Key Casting (exclusive)
Distributors: Hulu and StarzPlay
It wouldn’t be the holidays without a good period drama, so we’re delighted that The Great is returning to fulfil that need. Funny, raunchy and wildly inaccurate, it follows Catherine the Great (Elle Fanning) as she overthrows Russian Emperor Peter III (Nicholas Hoult).
Premiered 19 November on Hulu and 5 December on StarzPlay.
A Castle for Christmas
Background casting agent: GBM Casting
Distributor: Netflix
Netflix is bringing us all the festive joy this season. In this delightful romcom, bestselling author Sophie (Brooke Shields) leaves the US in the midst of a scandal and journeys to Scotland, where she falls in love with a castle and faces off with the grumpy duke (Cary Elwes) who owns it.
Premiered 26 November on Netflix.
Pirates
Background casting agent: Key Casting (exclusive)
Distributor: Picturehouse Entertainment
Dubbed “the world’s shortest road movie,” Pirates follows three 18-year-old friends - who are striving to make it as a garage crew - as they journey from North to South London on New Year’s Eve 1999. For writer and director Reggie Yates, Pirates is a celebration of Black joy - the coming-of-age comedy about young men of colour which didn’t exist when he was a teenager.
Premiered 26 November in cinemas.
Boxing Day
Background casting agent: Key Casting (exclusive)
Distributor: Warner Brothers
In this loosely autobiographical tale, writer, director and leading man Aml Ameen plays Melvin, a British author living in the US who returns to London for Christmas to introduce his American fiance Lisa (Aja Naomi King) to his eccentric British-Caribbean family. Also starring Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne Pinnock, this warm, funny, festive film is set to become a holiday classic.
Premiered 3 December in cinemas.
Ragdoll
Production Company: Sid Gentle
Background casting agent: Extra People (exclusive)
Distributor: Alibi and AMC
Dubbed “the new Killing Eve,” Ragdoll is a gory thriller which follows three detectives (played by Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Thalissa Teixeira and Lucy Hale) as they investigate a serial killer who’s murdered six people and stiched their body parts together into one grotesque corpse. When the killer names six more victims due to die, the team find themselves in a race against time, which makes for some seriously gripping telly.
Premiered 6 December on Alibi.
The Witcher: Season 2
Background casting agent: The Artist Book
Distributor: Netflix
After a two-year hiatus, everyone’s favourite monster hunter is back. Henry Cavill returns to our screens in December as the blonde and brooding Geralt of Rivia in Season 2 of Netflix’s hugely popular The Witcher. With Cavill promising “multiple cliffhangers” each episode, we recommend you watch this one before returning to the office!
Premiering 17 December on Netflix.
