Product Designer

What you’ll get up to in the role

  • Get up to speed with our processes, customers, products and design documentation so that you’re ready to start designing valuable solutions for our users

  • Establish the key areas that you’ll work on within the POP platform and start building your network of key contributors on the team to learn what they do and where you can add value

  • Start to develop a first-hand understanding of the challenges faced by our key users by taking part in your first user research session(s)

In the first three months, you will

  • Take responsibility for owning one of the workstreams; working with the product manager and development team to set priorities and deliver the work

  • Make your first contribution(s) to the design system

  • Have a plan for what we’re trying to achieve in the year and how your work plays a part in it

  • Re-prioritised the tasks in your backlog a couple of times

  • Responded to a few print and graphic design requests

In the first year

  • Have seen a number of features through from research to release

  • Have a growing list of ideas and opinions about how we can improve our product and design processes

  • Helped thousands of entertainment professionals get better at their jobs (and spoken to a fair few!)

What we look for in you

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships, through research, with the people that use our products

  • Create open and accessible prototypes and documentation that enable others to implement the designs you produce

  • Drive our team forward by actively contributing to our component library, style guide and other internal resources

  • Measure the user experience and develop bold opinions about areas of opportunity

Bonus points for

  • 3+ years professional experience, or equivalent qualifications (e.g. a relevant bachelor’s degree)

  • Experience responding to design briefs and helping to shape the planned solution, before it goes into design

  • Experience in responsive UI design for the web

  • Experience contributing to design systems

  • Experience collaborating on and interpreting user research

  • A broad understanding of visual design and other design software

  • Proficient in spoken and written English

  • Nice to have: experience with data visualisation and working cross-functionally with Product Managers, engineers, data analysts to realise value from B2B SaaS data
